A note from Ms. Ginny… I would like to introduce to you a young lady whom I highly recommend as a swim instructor. Janelle Lester is a wonderful young woman who genuinely loves children. It also helps that she loves the water and shares the same passion as myself for teaching children self-rescue techniques in the water! She has provided her picture and bio for your review. I will not be teaching group lessons this year; therefore, I am encouraging you to book your group lessons through Janelle. You can come by our pool to meet her in April and May as she will be training for Infant/Toddler Self-Rescue during these months. If you want group lessons for one child and don’t want to travel to my house for private lessons for the other child, I want to encourage you to book your group and private lessons with Janelle. It is our goal as swimming instructors to see that every child learns self-rescue techniques. Janelle is also available for “in-home” swimming lessons. If you would like to sponsor your pool and help Janelle fill at least 4 hours of swim lessons, then Janelle will teach your kids for free!
For me, water has always been a place to procure fun, exercise, amazing therapy, and achieve goals. It is my desire to help people of all ages experience the water in these same great ways. I love to teach, learn, connect and work with people of all ages. I love to travel and be in the water. I participated in my first swim lesson at age four and have loved being in the water ever since. I spent the whole summer between fourth & fifth grade helping the lifeguards begin and end their workday at the city pool with my presence in the water – and rode my bike eight miles, six days per week to be there to do so. I am an adventurer, part fish, natural teacher, student of life, and Tinker Bell look-alike. Certifications and training include: Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, CPR, First Aid & AED Instructor, and Adapted Aquatics; volunteering with the Special Olympics Aquatics and a season teaching and co-teaching lessons for differently-abled persons. (As we’re all equipped with our unique abilities & strengths, I prefer to reference ‘special needs’ persons/population as differently-abled, as we are all uniquely-abled as God has gifted us.) Further equipping myself to teach anyone, regardless of their ability, getting certified in Adaptive Aquatics is in the future plans. I have been a full-time Nanny for the last six years working with children ranging from four weeks to eight years of age, with my most recent family being infant twins. I’ve also been actively involved in children’s programs at church for almost six years. I’m looking forward to a great 2012 season! See you in the water! Janelle
